Education

I am a qualified civil engineer graduated from the University of South Africa in 2017 with a strong background in mathematics, and physical science. While studying I worked as a civil engineering technical assistant for 3 years. Basically I was a technical PA doing all the number crunching, research and paperwork for the civil engineers in the small consulting company I worked in. I was able to do this because I was studying through distance learning.

Experience

During my third year of study I was employed to tutor land surveying to 2nd year civil engineering student for a full year. During that time I found I enjoyed helping students overcome their academic problems, it gave me a sense of satisfaction and also helped me reinforce my knowledge in what I already knew. I have informally tutored individual students since then but not on an ongoing basis.

Hobbies

I have quite a few things I enjoy, I'm a lover of the arts in general, whether it's the performance arts or visual arts. I'm an artist myself, although I have no formal training, I love pencil sketching and painting. I'm currently taking an online class to learn hyper-realistic drawing skills. I also enjoy volleyball a great deal. I've been playing it since the 8th grade and been loving it since. In high school I played in the schools A team from my 8th to my 12th grade. In my 11th grade I was made captain and when our coach retired in my 12th grade I was asked to take his place for the year! Aside from all that I enjoy reading books, especially novels. I enjoy the escapism and the way it stimulates my imagination.
